KungfuNK, Where Music Meets Kungfu.

This has been the mantra from day one. Taking inspiration from growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. Not only was there the films of Bruce Lee but also a plethora of classic TV shows like Starsky & Hutch, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Dukes Of Hazzard, The Incredible Hulk, The Rockford Files, Kojak, Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels and of course Kung Fu.

I grew up with all of these along with the music of James Brown, Sly & The Family Stone, The Bar-Kays, B.T. Express, Brass Construction, The Meters, The Isley Brothers, Parliament/Funkadelic, Bootsy's Rubber Band, Stevie Wonder, The Ohio Players, The Fatback Band, Curtis Mayfield, War, Isaac Hayes, Graham Central Station, Tower Of Power, Chic, The Blackbyrds, Herbie Hancock and The Brothers Johnson to name a few.

As a teenager in the 80’s I was the lucky enough to be at the birth of Hip Hop where I first started playing music. It all started with the likes of Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, The Furious Five, Afrika Bambaataa, Marley Marl, Arthur Baker, Hashim, Egyptian Lover, Aleem, Whodini, MC Shan, UTFO, Pumpkin, Chris "The Glove" Taylor, The B Boys, Davy DMX, Man Parrish, Newcleus, Knights Of The Turntable, Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde, Stetsasonic, Captain Rock, Xena, Jonzun Crew, Planet Patrol, The Unknown D.J., The Sugarhill Gang, Roxanne Shante, Doug E Fresh, Cybotron, Key-Matic, Mantronix, Kid Frost, Time Zone and many, many more.

This is where I started collecting vinyl, synthesisers and drum machines. Over time I’ve amassed a large collection of classic synths and drum machines like the Roland TR-808, Moog Memorymoog, Roland Juno-6, Roland TB-303, Yamaha DX7, E-mu Emulator III, Korg M1, Korg Wavestation, E-mu Morpheus, Novation Bass Station, Novation Supernova, Roland JV-1080, Korg Prophecy, Korg Trinity, Clavia Nord Lead, Clavia Nord Lead 2, Clavia Nord Lead 3 and the Akai S1000 sampler. All these synths have been, and many are still being used today along with new soft synths and effects.
